This week’s Year In Review is all about celebrating the big reveal. From stunning shower transformations to kitchen glow-ups, read on for the “blah”-to-brilliant moments you liked, shared and pinned the most. (They might even inspire your own space makeover!)

10. Handcrafted Excellence

Authentic handcrafted Zellige tile adds artisanal appeal to this boho chic bathroom, designed by Carmeon Hamilton. We love how the traditional star and cross design complements the abstract art, graphic wallpaper and decorative fans, creating a unique, worldly aesthetic. For ideas on incorporating this global, eclectic style into your space, check out our guide to boho chic design.

Featuring: Zellige Charcoal Chabone Cross Gloss, Zellige Charcoal Chabone Star Matte and Riad White. Design and photography by Carmeon Hamilton.

9. Transitional Kitchen

Jennifer Janeway Designs paired the Volakas Honed Large Herringbone tile with white cabinets and countertops to create a bright and inviting kitchen. The designer crafted a beautiful transitional space by mixing marble–often found in traditional design–with contemporary cabinet pulls and a black faucet. Discover how to achieve the perfect balance between old and new styles in our guide to transitional design.

8. Relaxing Shower

This stunning shower, also designed by Jennifer Janeway Designs, uses a mix of neutrals to create a stylish, contemporary space. The grey and beige Aspire Hex Ash mosaic tile focal point extends to the shower floor, creating a pleasing waterfall effect. Shop our wide selection of mosaic tiles to replicate this design in your style.

7. Magnificent Fireplace

Warm grey paint and a blue-and-grey mosaic fireplace surround transform this cozy living room from “okay” to OH YAY! We love how the color variation in the Penny Round Cloudy tile adds visual texture to the space (and how the blue and grey tones complement the rug). For more ideas on upgrading your home hearth, shop our wide selection of fireplace tile.

6. Sleek & Chic Backsplash

This stylish kitchen update is on point! The Picket Florencia Super Bianco tile offers a modern twist on the traditional subway. The horizontal and diagonal lines create movement in the backsplash, giving it a chic, contemporary feel. If you love this sleek shape, shop our full selection of picket tile.

5. Oasis Bathroom

Large-format stone-look tiles give this space a cohesive, expansive appearance. The Carrara Gris wall tile features subtle grey veining for an authentic marble look, while the Linear Stone Black tile, with its expressive grey coloring, mimics the appearance of limestone. Both tiles offer the durability and easy maintenance of porcelain. The result is a luxurious space that will retain its beauty for years to come.

4. Marble Shower

Luxurious Ashford Carrara marble completes this elegant bathroom. The subway tile shower walls and Niles mosaic tile floor are classic shapes that complement the curved silver hardware and Victorian-inspired door handle, creating a timeless, traditional design.

3. Boho Bathroom

With unique style and worldly sensibility, I SPY DIY completely transforms this small bathroom. The custom subway tile walls and Moroccan-inspired cross-and-star-shaped floor tiles add a personal, stylized touch, taking the space from simple to stellar. If you love this perfectly imperfect style, shop our vast selection of handmade-look tile.

2. Serene Shower

The gently flowing 3D waves of the Nora White tile create a soothing, tactile experience in this shower, designed by @juliachristinehomes. The brilliant white, textured surface awakens the senses, making it the perfect space to start the day.

1. Contemporary Bathroom

We can see why this contemporary bathroom update, designed by All About Bathrooms, was your favorite project of 2024! The vivid Look Avio tile, installed vertically with a horizontal offset, is so chic! While the large-format, marble-look floor tile makes this spacious bathroom feel even more expansive. The effect is a luxurious and revitalizing space.

Have you been contemplating a bathroom refresh? Could your entryway use a little TLC? Whether you’ve been itching to tackle a complete reno or a weekend DIY, these dramatic room transformations will inspire you to update your space.

I Spy DIY’s Loft Bathroom

Jenni Yolo of I Spy DIY took this loft bathroom from drab to dazzling! By dividing the room and installing a stand-alone shower, she created a spa experience in this loft bathroom. We love how the neutral tones of the Riad Grey tile and the Royal White Polished Hex create a calming, peaceful mood and make the bright red accessories pop. For more stunning bathroom ideas, check out 16 Luxurious Bathroom Designs.

Craven Haven’s Boys’ Bathroom

For this Jack and Jill style bathroom accessible to both her boys’ rooms, Mackenzie from Craven Haven wanted a look that was at once classic and fun, and we think she nailed it! This bathroom redo captures the charm of boyhood with its simple color scheme and geometric lines, but remove the red step stools and you have a room perfect for teenagers. The Cali Black and White floor tile has a fun, but orderly design, while the Verano Anthracite and White handmade-look subway tile feature a slightly wavy texture and a glossy finish to reflect the light, making the room appear brighter. The black and white tiles mean this room can be easily updated as her kids evolve their style.

Entryway by Revival 4106

As evident by the before photos, this 1915 house required a complete remodel when it was purchased by the couple behind Revival 4106. They used the Cloth Black and White tile for the entryway and back staircase and we love how it complements the black metal light fixture and the muted green of the entryway. This patterned tile, a fun twist on a classic black and white checkerboard, breathes new life into this house!

I Spy DIY’s Loft House Blue Tiled Bathroom

For her Loft House downstairs bathroom, Jenni Yolo took a risk with bold, dark colors, and we definitely think it’s paid off! The Marrakesh Blue and Off White handmade-look tiles add an artisanal charm to this room. The checkerboard pattern in the shower and the Cross Black and Snow White custom patterned tile on the floor work well together, each providing some respite in what could otherwise be a heavy, dark-colored room. Contrasted with the harsh whites of the before picture, this renovation does an amazing job of creating a room that is at once peaceful and bold.

Featuring: Marrakesh Blue, Marrakesh Off White, Cross Snow White, Cross Black and Black Marquina Somerset. Design and photography by I Spy DIY.

Craven Haven’s Utility Room

This utility room designed by Mackenzie of Craven Haven is more than just utilitarian. The Trecento Calacatta Marbello luxury vinyl tile provides good movement with its bold grey veining that mimics natural stone. We love how the off-white base of the tile matches the color on the upper wall, allowing for the deep plumb cabinetry and wainscoting to stand out. Luxury vinyl flooring is easy to install and maintain, making it the perfect choice for a DIY project in a high-traffic area.

Haneen’s Haven Bathroom

Haneen from Haneen’s Haven turned this bathroom from blah to brilliant! Using her artistic sensibilities, she created a room that perfectly blends classic and modern details. The Truewood Beige Wood Look tile adds a warm, organic element to this room. For the shower, she went with a simple black and white color scheme. The Saltus patterned tile creates an unexpected artistic moment in these beautiful shower niches.

Fireplace by Kendall Design Build

The Noir Honed Chevron mosaic tile creates a boldly-stylish moment in this chic family room. The black tile paired with the dark cabinetry is a sophisticated redo in this family space and allows for color to come through elsewhere in the room, like the bright gold couch and wooden coffee table. Explore these breathtaking room transformations for all the inspiration you need to elevate your home with a little TLC. From a pattern-forward maximalist living room to a chic vintage bathroom with pops of pastel pink, there’s fresh eye candy for every style and taste.

1. Brooke Pavel’s Bright Boho Bathroom

During the Fall 2020 One Room Challenge, Iowa-based DIYer Brooke Pavel transformed her home’s unfinished primary bathroom into a cozy, light-filled haven. Featuring the Picket Florencia Super Bianco, Calacata Evora and Royal White Polished Hex Marble tiles alongside natural wood accents and gold hardware, this space is a boho-inspired dream!

2. I SPY DIY’s Bungalow Bathroom

A broken floor tile was the impetus for this bathroom glow-up, designed by Jenni Yolo of I SPY DIY. Working on a budget, she chose the Kasbah Star and Cross Terracotta for their handmade look and Moroccan-inspired design. Though these tiles have the appearance of clay, they are actually porcelain–a durable choice for this rental unit. For the walls, Jenni chose the Villa Warm Grey and White tiles arranged in a custom plaid pattern layout. The warm colors used throughout make this space feel calm and relaxing.

3. Yellow Brick Home Townhouse Kitchen

When Kim and Scott of Yellow Brick Home set out to update their parents’ kitchen, they took note of the pain points: backsplash tile that didn’t fit their style, a clunky appliance garage that ate up counter space, and a counter support that blocked access to seating. The remodeled kitchen increases the flow and cohesion of the space, thanks in large part to the Livingstone Bianco tile backsplash. The large-format tile requires fewer grout joints, giving it the luxurious appearance of a large slab of marble. While the counter support proved integral to the space, they were able to better incorporate it by continuing the tile around the beam.

4. Malcom Simmons’ Lavish & Elegant Bathroom

Designer Malcolm Simmons embraced timeless style and luxury during the bathroom reno in his colonial-style condo. Walls tiled with the light-reflecting Imperial Bianco Gloss subway help the room feel brighter and more open, while the elegant Hampton Carrara Niles marble flooring adds an especially lavish touch. Malcolm’s use of multiple trim pieces, including the Noir Honed Hixton, Hampton Carrara Cardine, Imperial Bianco Gloss Square Pencil and Hampton Carrara Polished Skirting, ties the space together beautifully with a custom, polished look.

5. I SPY DIY’s Boho Farmhouse Kitchen

Jenni Yolo decided to go bold with her duplex kitchen refresh and we think her brashness paid off! Though there is a lot to love about the before images, Jenni wanted a backsplash tile that better complemented the Indonesian-inspired design of the Annie Selke Ikat Black floor tile. Deciding to highlight the brown of the pattern, she chose the Aurea Bronze handmade-look subway tile. The alternating vertical and horizontal stacks add interest to the backsplash the layout is reflected in the arrangement of the planks and beams on the wood ceiling.

6. Haneen’s Haven’s Charming Traditional Bathroom

DIYer Haneen Matt of Haneen’s Haven gave new life to her dated primary bathroom with a delightful blend of rustic and traditional styles. Her use of our wood-look Truewood Beige porcelain tile on the floor creates an effortlessly warm and cozy feel, while the elegant marble shower featuring the Bianco Puro honed subway tile and Hampton Hermosa mosaic elevates the overall design with an opulent look and feel. A hidden highlight? The whimsical wallpaper-look Saltus tile showcased in the shower niches!

7. Blue Orchid Living’s Lovely Laundry Room

Mehr Niazi of @blueorchidliving used a little reno magic to transform this “blah” laundry room into a beautiful space. Pulling colors from the gorgeous floral wallpaper, Mehr created a custom penny round tile design. The White, Pale Taupe and Sky Blue tiles give this space a unique, almost regal appeal. The effect is a room luxurious enough to make you love laundry day.

8. Yellow Brick Home’s Vintage Chic Bathroom

Husband and wife design duo, Scott and Kim Vargo of Yellow Brick Home, took on the challenge of giving their 130-year-old Chicago flat a much-needed bathroom refresh while keeping its vintage charm intact. Wanting to keep the bathroom’s original pastel pink bathtub and sink as the stars of the space, they opted for a simple black-and-white color palette. The Imperial Bianco Gloss subway tile provides a crisp white backdrop, while the Black Marquina Marble Somerset and Black Marquina Marble Skirting add a hint of contrast. The Hampton Niles marble flooring features a sophisticated basketweave pattern that offers the perfect amount of visual interest without stealing the show.

9. Dressing Rooms Interiors’ Glam Black & White Kitchen

Ariene Bethea of Dressing Rooms Interiors Studio created a kitchen that perfectly embodies her signature “soulful maximalism” style during the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge. Her choice of the crisp Herringbone Gloss White mosaic for the backsplash pairs beautifully with deep black cabinetry for intense, eye-catching contrast. Finished with bold pops of color and luxe gold accents throughout, this space takes glam to the next level.

10. Jeweled Interiors’ Maximalist Living Room

To turn her client’s uninspired living room into an elegantly eclectic dream space, interior designer Jewel Marlowe of Jeweled Interiors embraced a bold mix of colors, patterns, and eras. Along with bright blue patterned wallpaper and funky statement-making furniture, one of the living room’s most notable upgrades was the sleek black fireplace. Jewel knew she wanted to update the original stone-stacked fireplace with something more modern and chic. Using our large-format Noir Honed Travertine to achieve the look of a dramatic and luxurious marble slab at a lower cost, the new fireplace makes for a grand focal point that grounds the color-forward space.

11. Pinch Plate Party’s Moody Artisanal Kitchen

Featuring a beautiful artisanal backsplash made of our handmade-look Riad White tile, Pinch Plate Party‘s Lauren Comer created the moody kitchen of her dreams. Wavy, uneven ripples of surface texture and varying shades of rich, creamy white give the Riad tile a crafted-by-hand appearance that instantly makes any surface appear softer. Complete with rich olive green cabinetry, warm brown tones from the Arbour Midlands Nutmeg Oak luxury vinyl flooring and whimsical floral wallpaper, this kitchen is a relaxing haven.

12. Hunted Interior’s Refined Guest Bathroom

Hunted Interior‘s Kristin Jackson transformed her bland guest bathroom into a timeless and refined space during the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge. On the walls, Kristin incorporated the Glass Rosewater subway tile for its inviting greige hue that ties in beautifully with the soft veins of silvery grey and linen beige in the Royal White Polished Marble Hexagon Mosaic flooring. Styled with a few of Kristin’s favorite antique home decor pieces, this bathroom is the definition of tasteful design.
